MUSCAT - August 15, 2018 : Qatar Airways celebrated its one-year anniversary of operating direct flights to Sohar, the airline's third and newest destination in the sultanate. The coastal city is known for its safe and clean seafront, offering a wide variety of water sports for visitors to enjoy, including diving, snorkeling and kite boarding. Additionally, Sohar is home to many traditional markets featuring Omani handicrafts, offering tourists a taste of authentic Omani culture. Sohar is also known to be the country's main shipping hub.
Qatar Airways group chief executive, Akbar al Baker, said, "We are delighted to be celebrating one year of flying to Sohar, our most recent destination in the sultanate, a country which we began serving nearly 18 years ago. "Sohar is ideal for travellers wishing to explore the warmth of the Omani culture and the hospitality of the Omani people.
