Qatar Airways introduces QSuite on Mumbai and Bengaluru routes

MUMBAI:Qatar Airways' Qsuite, that have one of the best business class seats in the industry, is now available on flights to and from Mumbai and Bengaluru.

The Qsuite features the industry's first-ever double bed available in business class, as well as private cabins for up to four people with privacy panels that stow away, allowing passengers in adjoining seats to create their own private room, a first of its kind in the industry, said a release issued by the airline.

Singapore Airlines (SIA) will launch non-stop flights between Singapore and Los Angeles using the new Airbus A350-900ULR (ultra-long-range) aircraft in November. In addition, SIA will step up existing daily non-stop Singapore-San Francisco services to 10 times per week.

Salam Air to add extra flight due to high passenger demand

Budget airline SalamAir has announced that it is set to add a third flight between Muscat and Shiraz. The airline said in an announcement "In response to our guests' demand, we are adding a 3rd flight to our Muscat-Shiraz route."

The additional flight will be on Sundays, with SalamAir presently operating the route on Tuesdays and Fridays. Flights depart Muscat at 1:15 pm, arriving in Shiraz at 3:15pm. The flight from Shiraz leaves at 4pm, arriving in Muscat at 5:05pm.

Qatar Airways raises Dhaka Doha flights to 4

Qatar Airways recently announced increasing flights on the Dhaka-Doha route from three to four from August 1.

An Airbus A330-200 will be used for the additional flight, having 24 seats in business class and 236 in economy, said a statement yesterday of the airline which connects over 150 destinations with Dhaka.

Turkish Airlines (THY) was deemed three times safer than various European airlines in a year-long inspection carried out by the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA), THY General Manager Bilal Eksi announced on Twitter Wednesday.

The Safety Assessment of Foreign Aircraft (SAFA) program inspects the maintenance status and airworthiness of airlines' aircrafts. The program also checks whether cabin crews and pilots follow the necessary safety rules both in the cockpit and cabin.

Dubai International sees 37m passengers in early 2018

Dubai International welcomed 36.9 million passengers during the first five months of 2018, according to the monthly traffic report issued by operator Dubai Airports.

DXB welcomed a total of 36,943,613 passengers during the first five months of 2018 compared to 36,969,594 passengers recorded during the same period last year, a marginal contraction of 0.1 per cent, largely due to the impact of Ramadan which fell in May this year.

July 03, 2018 : Oman Air, the national carrier of the sultanate, commenced its new service from Muscat to the Moroccan city of Casablanca on July 1.

The inaugural flight WY171 departed Muscat International Airport at 1.20am after a cake cutting ceremony. The flight arrived in Casablanca at 7.10am. This new service to Casablanca is operated by Dreamliner (787-800) and is scheduled to depart Muscat four times per week flying to Mohammed V International Airport in Casablanca.

Mumbai: Jet Airways on Wednesday said it has signed a new order for 75 more Boeing 737 MAX aircraft, taking the total order for such aircraft to 150.

EgyptAir to Resume Moscow Flights Next Month

Egypt's national carrier EgyptAir has said it would resume direct flights between Cairo and Moscow on April 12.

The announcement came three days after Russian flagship carrier Aeroflot said it would restart flights between the two capitals from April 11.

Boeing and Turkish Airlines have firmed up an order for 25 of the aircraft manufacturer's 787-9 Dreamliners, with options for a further five. The order was first announced as a commitment last September.

Boeing noted that the twin-aisle B787-9 offers "unmatched" fuel efficiency and range. Turkish Airlines is the 71st customer of the aircraft type. The flag-carrier also ordered three more B777 Freighters in January, following delivery of its first two of that series last year.
